'Epic Ride' Guided Cycling Tours
“Drum Canyon Loop”
Distance: Approx. 46 miles.
Level of Difficulty: moderate to difficult
 This moderate to difficult route will up the ante a bit, as your ride through four canyons and a total elevation gain of about 2800 feet. After leaving the hotel we work our way toward Foxen Canyon Rd. passing additional wineries while riding up a few short climbs. We head downhill to satisfy our need for speed en route to the western town of Los Alamos. Before the climb up Drum Canyon, we stop in a picturesque park for a gourmet picnic lunch at about noon. After lunch we head 3 miles and 800ft up Drum, giving our legs a little workout. From the top to Hwy 246 is a 9 mile, somewhat bumpy and technical downhill. Once on 246, we return to the hotel through Ballard Canyon past ranches and bucolic vineyards.
"Figueroa Mountain Climb / Loop"
Distance: Approx. 45-50 miles.
Level of Difficulty: difficult to strenuous
 Climb the same mountain that Lance Armstrong trains on while passing vibrant wildflowers to keep your mind off the pain. With inclines as steep as 12-14% and an overall elevation gain of 4350’, this climb is not for the faint of heart. After a very challenging climb, we will descend down a technical downhill to Los Olivos. Lunch at Vineyard House Restaurant at conclusion of ride. This ride is available as either a loop (12 mile climb with some descents) or 'climb & down' ride (9.5 mile climb/descent, steeper grades than loop climb). SAG Vehicle provided.
"Jalama Beach Ride"
Distance: Approx. 75-80 miles (roundtrip; shuttle available from beach)
Level of Difficulty: moderate to difficult
 We call this the "Queen of the Epic Rides" because it combines all the best scenery the area has to offer: challenging, beautiful rolling hills and vineyards combined with spectacular scenic overlooks of the Pacific Ocean. Jalama Beach State Park is a classic and remote California location with expansive views of the ocean. This ride is not for the faint of heart, unless that heart enjoys over 4800' of climbing over 78 miles! SAG vehicle is provided. Shuttle back from beach for those who prefer not bike back after a delicious, well-deserved Jalama burger...
