Lover’s Loop Hike
Easy to moderate: 4.5 miles, options for additional mileage
This trail is made possible through the generosity of the Midland School which shares some of its 2,860 acre property with hikers. The trailhead is just past the end of the Figueroa Mountain Valley and offers a continuous, gentle hike under the canopy of live and valley oak trees surrounded by grasslands and often spectacular wildflowers. A rolling trail with moderate hills, this charming walk through the woods culminates with a lunch under a sycamore tree near a seasonal stream. Our guided hike includes permits, transportation to/from the trailhead, a local and professional hiking guide and a picnic lunch.

Bike & Hike Guided Tour
Easy 14 mile ride followed by 4.5 mile “Lover’s Loop” hike; option for wine tasting after hike
This is a leisurely pedal through the Santa Ynez Valley followed by a gorgeous hike. The tour rolls past local apple orchards, pastoral farms and picturesque vineyards before passing through the quaint town of Los Olivos and continuing to the base of Figueroa Mountain. Check your bike at the trailhead and set out on foot with our experienced hiking guide. This 4.5 mile hike is easy to moderate and passes a stream and often stunning wildflowers. Your guide will serve a locally-sourced picnic lunch in a park or vineyard following the hike. Our comfortable air conditioned van will await your arrival at the trailhead and return you to the shop.

Figueroa Mountain-Cat Way Hike
This is a moderate walk, including ascents and hills, overlooking the Santa Ynez valley and theSan Rafael Wilderness. Taking about few hours to traverse, the tour begins just above the Figueroa Mountain Ranger station. From here, we’ll traverse the top of the ridge-line, peaking out to the untouched mountainscape on one side, and the cultivated wine country on the other. Water and snacks are available on the tour, and our air conditioned van will be on call to escort us off the mountainside.

Henry’s Beach & Douglas Preserve Hike Loop
This hike begins at Hendry’s Beach in Santa Barbara and travels about 2 miles down the beach to the bougainvillea-lined Mesa Lane steps (all 1,000 of them) before entering the Douglas Family Preserve. This 70 acre Preserve on the bluffs was named after actor Michael Douglas in recognition of his generous gift to place this ocean-front property into the Trust for Public Land- ensuring it will be enjoyed by locals for generations to come. Experience the eucalyptus groves and chaparral gardens overlooking the Pacific and views of the Channel Islands before a windy trail through the oaks brings you back to lunch at the Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach. This hike is sure to please even the most well-traveled guests, with its stunning views of coastline, and beachfront dining experience.

Refugio Hike
Moderate hike of 6 miles with great views of the Santa Ynez Valley and at the top, 180 degree views of Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean. Starting at the base of the coastal mountains, we’ll climb the eroded fire road that was former president Ronald Reagan’s main avenue into the Santa Ynez valley, when he visited from his ranch on the top of the pass. Shaded by the biodiverse oak forests, our efforts will be rewarded with stunning vistas, and blooming wildflowers in the spring.

Snyder Trail Hike
Guadalupe Dunes Beach Hike
Moderate to challenging: 7.5 miles roundtrip.
The Rancho Guadalupe Dunes Preserve is a 22,000 acre State Park stretching between Point Sal and Pismo Beach. It is home to the Santa Maria River Estuary where Western Snowy Plover and California Least Tern have their nesting grounds. It was a location for several scenes of the motion picture “Pirates of the Caribbean”. The dunes are covered with wildflowers in the springtime and include a natural arch formation on the beach. This hike along the beach and sand dunes winds around Mussel Point and includes a precarious trail to a secluded beach. Enjoy a natural rock arch among the tide pools, flocks of sea birds diving for fish, and the seals, otters and dolphin who make this place a nature-lover’s paradise. Conclude your time hike with our signature picnic lunch. {Due to distance (one hour drive each way) this tour is $250 per person}. Hike includes park fees & permits.
