Established in 2005, we have refined the Santa Barbara Wine Country cycling experience and enjoy sharing the best of the region with our guests. This classic wine country package features the best of cycling in the Santa Ynez Valley including guided cycling tours, bike rentals, farm-to-table alfresco lunches & wine tasting each day, two dinners at local favorite restaurants, vehicle support and intermediate accommodations. This Inn in the quaint Danish town of Solvang is located on the outskirts of town and is close to many different restaurants and shopping. Hadsten House is one of Solvang’s newest, boutique lodging destinations. The guestrooms are complete and ready for you to relax and unwind a wonderful breakfast is included.
DAY ONE: Sunday – Arrival and Valley Orientation Ride

11:00 AM Meet at Santa Barbara Wine Country Cycling Tours in Solvang for introductions & bike fittings.
Route: Heart of the Valley
Distance: 15-20 miles, (options for additional mileage)
Level of Difficulty: easy
This ride will take you through the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley with visits to a miniature horse farm, a century old one-room school house and olive oil tasting in the quaint town of Los Olivos. This tour includes a local’s favorite: the expansive Ballard Canyon Road. This idyllic road offers memorable views which often include a family of buffalo before descending past vineyard land back into Solvang. Enjoy wine tasting at Rusack Winery just outside Solvang.
3:00 PM Return to Santa Barbara Cycling Tours retail store.
7:00 PM Dinner at The Santa Ynez Kitchen; tax and gratuity included (alcohol excluded).
DAY TWO: Monday – Tour of Santa Ynez Loop

The Tour of Santa Ynez features the stunning Happy Canyon route through the foothills of the San Rafael Mountains. Your guide will bring you passed world-famous thoroughbred farms including the pastures where Secretariat retired and the movie Sea Biscuit was filmed. This part of our valley offers sweeping expanses and breath-taking views.
For those seeking to accelerate their heart-rate, your guide will modify the route and lead you up a few turns of the road to Figueroa Mountain – a bucket list climb where the pros train. Both routes lead to Bridlewood Vineyard where a farm-to-table lunch will be served alfresco in the vineyard with wine tasting to follow. A short cool down pedal awaits you after lunch returning you to our store.
12:30 PM Farm-to-Table lunch served alfresco at Bridlewood Winery. Bridlewood Estate flanks the eastern side of the Santa Ynez Valley and boasts spectacular mountain views. Includes wine tasting in the estate’s tasting room
3:00 PM Return to tour shop and shuttle to hotel

DAY THREE: Tuesday – Santa Rosa Road
Breakfast at Hotel
9:00AM Meet guides at hotel in Solvang. Optional shuttle to start of Santa Rosa Road.
Route: Santa Rosa Road
Distance: 30-35 miles (shuttle available after lunch)
Level of Difficulty: moderate with some climbs
9:30 AM Depart on tour.
This ride takes you through the Santa Rita Hills AVA, home to the regions premier pinot noir grapes. This route along the Santa Ynez River travels west towards the ocean and includes two short, moderate climbs and the area’s most notable rolling hills.
12:30 PM Pedal to your table on the grounds of the beautiful Lafond Winery and relax as our catering staff serves you the best offerings of the season; fresh fruits, a Mediterranean salad, artisanal bread, cheese and local olives while you sit back and take in the surrounding views of the vineyard and river.
Shuttle service available after lunch.
3:00 PM Return to SB Cycling Tours
Afternoon Free to explore the village of Solvang.
Dinner at Petros in Solvang.
DAY FOUR: Wednesday – Foxen Canyon & Vineyard Lunch
Breakfast at the Hotel
9:00 AM Meet your guide at hotel for route discussion.
Route: Foxen Canyon
Distance: 30-35 miles (shuttle available after lunch); option for additional mileage
Level of Difficulty: moderate to strenuous with some climbing
This intermediate route begins with an easy warm-up ride into Los Olivos before the first short climb on Foxen Canyon Road. There are two climbs; the second is a long circuitous road through a canopy of oak trees with views of the San Rafael Mountains at the summit. The descent follows the Sisquoc River Valley passing rangeland, expansive vineyards and the picturesque San Ramon Chapel built in 1875.
12:30 PM Enjoy our signature farm-to-table lunch at Rancho Sisquoc Winery, a secluded vineyard tucked away in the hillside and surrounded by walnut trees and grapevines. Lunch is followed with wine tasting.
Shuttle service available to transport purchased wine and/or tired riders for the return back.
Optional ride back to our retail store. Includes two additional climbs and the idyllic Ballard Canyon, passed expansive vineyard land and a family of buffalo.
3:30 PM Arrive back at store

DAY FIVE: Thursday – Hotel Check Out & Departure
Enjoy a plentiful breakfast with your newfound friends. This commences your cycling journey through the Central Coast of California.
Shuttle service is available to the Santa Barbara airport.
