Join Santa Barbara Wine Country Cycling Tours, as we ride through the Wine Country during the Santa Barbara County Harvest Festival weekend. Enjoy many of your favorite wines and taste some of the new varietals from the Fall Harvest.
Your cycling vacation includes deluxe accommodations, gourmet dining and a wine tasting dinner. This guided cycling vacation will also include local cycling tours each day, plus attendance at Santa Barbara County Harvest Festival weekend events at the Rancho Sisqouc Winery.

DAY ONE: Wednesday, October 8th
Solvang Arrival / Afternoon of Cycling
Upon your arrival in Solvang and check in at your hotel, we will begin introductions about the details of your cycling vacation.
Locale: Solvang Accommodations: Hadsten House Inn Ride: Ballard Canyon/Los Olivos Level: Easy to mod., rolling hills (15-25 mi.)

Group Dinner: Trattoria Grappolo in Santa Ynez
Today’s introductory ride will depart from Solvang and into the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. We will pass by the Old Mission Santa Ynez, apple farms and miniature horses en route to the quaint town of Los Olivos. We will continue through Ballard Canyon, with your first glimpse of the wine country. After a few short rolling hills, we will arrive back to at the Hadsten House Inn in Solvang. Option for additional mileage.

DAY TWO: Thursday, October 9th
Happy Canyon Ride & Gourmet Picnic Lunch

Highlights: Cycling, Gourmet Lunch and Wine Tasting.
Group Dinner: Los Olivos Cafe
Today you will ride through the breathtaking countryside of Happy Canyon past bucolic vineyards with views of majestic mountain tops and rolling oak-tree laden hills. After a morning of riding, we will stop at the local lavender farm before we head to Brander Winery for a gourmet picnic lunch and Wine Tasting. Option for additional mileage.

DAY THREE: Friday, October 10th

Cycling thru Santa Rita Hills
Locale: Santa Rita Hills/Solvang Accommodations: Hadsten House Inn Ride: Santa Rosa Road Level: Moderate, Rolling hills (25-35 mi.)
Highlights: Cycling, Gourmet Picnic Lunch and Wine Tasting
Group Dinner: Dinner on Your Own
Our ride heads west today through the Santa Rita Hills, home to many of the best Pinot Noir in the area. As we ride along the Santa Rosa River, we will pass vineyards and bountiful walnut orchards. Enjoy a pleasant ride along a pastoral creek to Alma Rosa Winery for another wonderful gourmet picnic lunch and wine tasting. Option for additional miles; shuttle service also available.

DAY FOUR: Saturday, October 11th
Cycling thru Foxen Canyon & Santa Barbara Harvest Festival

Group Dinner: Wine Makers Dinner at Vineyard House
Today you will bike alongside the rolling foothills of Los Olivos. We will pass cattle ranches and meander our way through the Los Olivos Wine Trail along the Sisqouc River Valley before we arrive at Rancho Sisquoc Winery for the Santa Barbara Wine Harvest Festival. Shuttle service back to Solvang.

DAY FIVE: Sunday, October 12th
Santa Barbara Harvest Festival Events & Hotel Checkout

Today we will decide on a morning checkout, following breakfast in Solvang. We’ll leave our bikes and cycling shoes behind, as we board a shuttle vehicle to several member wineries for Santa Barbara County Festival Winery Events. After visiting participating wineries in the early afternoon, we will say our final farewells as we pack up and shuttle to Santa Barbara.
Transfer from Hotel to Santa Barbara Airport and Villa de Rosa Inn in Santa Barbara.
Note: Prior arrangements will be made with Dr. Js Bicycle Shop in Solvang for those wishing to ship their bicycles.

A $400 deposit per person is required to guarantee a spot on the trip. This amount is refundable up to 45 days, less an administration fee of $125 per person.
Balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the trip or by (Sept. 7th, 2008).
