This spectacular mountain bike ride begins in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley wine country and finishes at Refugio beach located along the Gaviota Coastline.
A local favorite, the Refugio “Bike to the Beach” mountain bike ride includes breath-taking panoramic views of the Santa Ynez Valley, the Pacific Ocean, and the Santa Barbara Channel Islands.
The route is mostly paved with a steep four-mile dirt road climb. After the challenging four-mile mountain bike climb over Refugio Pass, you will descend on a paved road eight miles down to the beach where a gourmet picnic lunch awaits you.
Be sure to dip your front tire in the Pacific Ocean to mark the end of your exciting trip to the beach!
The Refugio “Bike to the Beach” mountain bike ride includes an experienced tour guide, mountain bike rentals, helmets / water bottles, and a gourmet picnic lunch at the beach.
This tour also includes shuttle service back to our retail bike center in Santa Ynez.
